AP76 trim control features

I know, the AP76 is not even out yet, but I thought I could offer some feature (creep) suggestions for it.

I believe one of the planned features for the AP76 is for automatic trim adjust. In this case, it would be really nice if the AP76 can also act as a trim controller (elevator trim), adjusting trim sensitivity according to airspeed... allowing a fast trim speed at low air speeds, and slow trim speed at fast airspeed.

When in autopilot mode, this would be under total control of the AP76, but under manual mode. The user would control the trim from the trim button on his/her stick, and the AP76 would control the trim servo sensitivity (speed) according to the airspeed. Basically, the AP76 can take over the role of the trim relay deck as well (allowing multiple control inputs).

The Dynon already has airspeed indication. Sure would make that $1500 target price more palatable.

Of course, what I would really like to see is for an upgrade path from the HS34 to the AP76 (with built-in HS34 features and compatible connections). Running out of panel :)

And here we are thinking that at $1500 you were getting a deal! ;)

Seriously, compare its features, when coupled to an EFIS, HS34 and say a 430W, to the highest end autopilots from the other autopilot leaders. And the others don't even have flight instruments!

To clarify - trim sensing / control are features that aren't yet announced in any configuration. We'll be looking into it after we start shipping servos and the AP74. If we do develop those features, don't assume they'd be limited to just the AP76 (we don't have a story on this point yet.)
