Charles,

Just finished back fitting a SkyView with GX-60 into an RV-8. Right now the GX-60 serial out does not interface with the SkyView, but just got a note from Dynon that Rev 11 fixes this issue. Send me an email address and I'll forward the wiring information.

Charles - email sent again. In the meantime here is a cut and paste of the information:

1. GX-60 Serial #2 out to SkyView, D10A, JPI fuel scan and XPDR (via 1.2K ohm resistor)
2. GX-60 Serial #2 ground (to SkyView ground connection)

Serial information
1. SkyView Serial #1 receive from GX-60 Serial #2 transmit (MovMap mode)
2. SkyView Serial #2 receive from SL-30 Serial transmit
3. SkyView Serial #3 receive and transmit to Dynon XPDR
4. SkyView Serial #4 receive and transmit to Dynon ADSB receiver
5. SkyView Serial #5 receive and transmit to Dynon GPS antenna
6. GX-60 serial #2 transmit to D10A, SkyView Serial #1, XPDR and JPI Fuel Scan
7. SL-30 serial transmit to D10A and SkyView Serial #2

GX-60 serial #2 out is on pin 22 of the 37 pin connector. GX-60 serial #2 out ground is on pin #20. Ground this pin to the SkyView ground connection. Note that in this install the SkyView, the Dynon D10A, the Dynon XDPR (via 1.2K ohm resistor) and the JPI fuel scan are all connected to the one GX-60 serial (#2 for us). While the GX-60 has two serial outputs, only one can be in the MovMap mode. This is the mode that is compatible with the Dynon EFIS. Don’t worry – you cannot overload a serial output.

SkyView serial #1 input is the Brown with Violet stripe wire.

BTW – don’t be installing pins on the GX-60 connectors if you don’t have the right tool and the right pins. Both are available from Stein Air.

Look on page 11-10 for the SkyView mode S XPDR install. This resistor is used in series from the GX-60 serial output to the XPDR serial input.
You do not use a in series resistor for any other GX-60 serial connections.

Note that the GX-60 is not going to be a 2020 ADS-B compliant GPS source, so there is no point in connecting it directly to the transponder in the USA. Other countries may vary.
