ARINC-429 wiring

This may be a dumb question, but should I be using shielded wiring for the interconnect wires between my ARINC-429 module and the GNS430W? The diagram in the installation manual doesn't seem to specify while the 430W diagram shows sheilded wires...

If shielded, should the shield be grounded at one particular side?

Ground the shields at both ends for serial/data lines - all manufacturers of Tso'd units do that with their equipment too.

Where should the shields be grounded on the SV-ARINC-429 end?  Should they be grounded to pin 20?

Yep, or ........... Sometimes I solder the shield onto the dsub connector instead.
