I have completed the my wiring and am getting ready to put the front deck on my RV9A.  Before doing so, I want to assure that the Skyview system and GNS430 are working together properly.  What should I be looking for to confirm that the wiring and set-up are complete?

Re: ARINC Install w GNS430W - Confirming Proper Se

Cycle through the navigation sources on the HSI using the PFD > NAVSRC button. If you have only the 430 as an external GPS (SkyView's own map is always the GPS 0 source), they'll be GPS1 and NAV1. You should be able to program a direct-to into the 430 and see the CDI (centered) and some of the other textual things on the HSI when you're on GPS1 (assuming the 430 has a GPS lock), and when tuned to the nav side of things (NAV1, nominally), you should be able to spin the course using one of the joysticks, and even if a station can't be seen, the currently tuned frequency should show up in the HSI's info items. Note that if you have other GPSes in the system, your 430 might not be GPS1. It'll depend on how you set up your GPS sources in the setup.
