Hi Guys,
D10A Ser# 003364 with 1.13.0 software.
Customer advises that the instrument is showing digital and tape ASI readings of 20 mph higher than the standard analogue ASI. Time and distance calculations also indicate that the D10A indication is high. Stall & VNE tape colors are correct and indicate correctly.
Advise please, Bob.

First off, a serial number of 3364 is indicative of an EFIS-D10A, but 1.13.0 is indicative of the unit being an EFIS-D10. It's impossible to load EFIS-D10A firmware on an EFIS-D10, so something is not adding up there.

As for the indications - are both the Dynon and the other ASI using the exact same pitot tube and static ports?

Also, note that the Dynon can be set to read airspeed in different units. Make sure that it is actually set to whatever the mechanical ASI is set to.

It's possible for the airspeed on the Dynon to be wrong (and in need of repair or calibration), but frankly, that indication tends to be pretty reliable over time. We're of course willing to have the unit back for a look under warranty if you don't find anything on your end. Give us a call at 425-402-0433 if you'd like to set up a return authorization.

Have talked to customer again this morning. He does not know what software is loaded to the D10A, only thinks that it is 1.13.0. My guess is that the software is that at the time of sale, February 2005. We are having him fly-in next week for a physical look see, and if necesary, carry out a software upgrade.
If the fault still persists following upgrade, we will call for an RMA.
