Also, let me describe my usual usage scenario. I like to take lots of screenshots. My screens have all my data the way i like it: map, position, airspeed, climbspeed, vs, traffic, weather, you name it, all presented in a nice picture. I also use the screenshot to log my flights with hobbes and tach times which i use to update my logbook at home.
Thus, at home, i pull out the screenshots to update my logbook and review my flight. On practically every flight, i have probably modified or tweaked something, so i like to see if any of my tweaks made a difference with regards to airspeed, temps, climb rate, etc. etc. etc. Any of the hundreds of things us builders like to investigate.
However, the screenshot only gives a snapshot of the picture. Sometimes (not as often), i like to actually go thru the trouble of uploading the data log to Saavy. The data logs give a real time complete picture. I dont do this for every flight. Just the ones that warrant further detailed analysis.
It's on these occasions, i have wondered, boy it would be nice if the data logs were just automatically saved to the usb drive as well at the end of the flight. That way i would have the screenshots as well as the data logs saved on the usb drive. I keep the usb drives on a keychain with the airplane keys. Thus, when i take my keys home with me, the usb drives are removed and come home with me, too.
I dont know how everyone else is using their systems. I just wanted to give one use case example of mine, at least. Thanks for listening!
