Automatic taxi diagrams

Why does the taxi diagrams not display while on the ground? I have an iFly 720 that displays taxi diagrams when below given speed on the ground. This could obviously be a selectable option if need be. Dan

Dan, you can click the map knob on the ground to toggle the taxi diagram.

We decided to not automate that since SkyView is used as a primary flight instrument, and you don't want it re-configuring itself as you fly. Additionally, since it's used for flight planning, traffic, and weather on the ground, you may not want that taxi diagram up. So we gave a quick way to access it, but didn't automate it.

What if it only appeared when another chart was being displayed (as Foreflight operates)? E.g. your displayed approach plate will automatically switch to a taxi diagram upon landing. This does not conflict with your above-stated concerns, but might satisfy the original poster.
