I have recently installed a new panel on my RV6A including my old Garmin GNC250XL, and a D180 with all the autopilot gear including AP74 & HS34. I have connected the GNC250XL using ARINC429. The Garmin has 3 options for output on it's ARINC channel:- 1) Collins PL2; 2) King EFS 40/50; and 3) w/o GAMA labels.
It doesn't seem to work on 3), but seems to work on either of 1) or 2), although I have had it drop out of autopilot on an occasion when I had selected output 1). I haven't yet tested it on output 2) properly.
Is there a preference here, or would I be better off using serial comms.
