Downloaded the new Dynon aviation and obstacle software for SV and obstacle was ok, however, aviation was not the latest version, it was the last cycle. Anyone else have the same experience? I did it twice to make sure I didn't do something wrong.

I suspect I had the same problem - my maps continued to show outdated after the update. I see there's a FAA_av1606_ob1603_14.0v2 on the site now (note the "v2"). Don't know when it was put up nor whether it corrects the problem.

Thought I was going nuts. Fixed now though.
The FAA changed the way they distributed the data and we made a mistake in packaging it, and so the upcoming cycle data had updated obstacle data but the same aviation data as the then-current (expired yesterday) cycle. We've updated our data package and the software update package that contains the FAA data.

Will that be the case from now on? That the the upcoming cycle data will contain the current cycle aviation data? Not Dynon's fault but it seems like that pretty much eliminates the usefulness of the upcoming cycle data?
No, it was a bug/mistake in that package that we've already fixed. The upcoming data cycle will continue to have the next cycle of both aviation and obstacle data as it usually does.
