AvMap EKP-4 Interface to Skyview

The EKP-4 Serial Cable has a single pin connector on one end and a 9 pin connector on the other. The single pin conector is plugged into the EKP-4. On the connector end,(EKP4) i have connected pin 4 of EKP4 to DB37 pin 3 Brn with Orange stripe - Serial Port 1 RX. Pin 3 of EKP4 to DB37 pin 4 Brn with Violet stripe - Serial Port 1 TX. EKP-4 pin 1 Grd to DB37 Grd. Have configured both units for acceptance. Skyview is still not accepting a position from the EKP-4. I am using the antenna from the EKP-4. ??

When you're in the Serial Port Setup screen, is the RX Counter incrementing?

If it's NOT incrementing, that indicates that data is not coming into that Serial Port RX pin.

Serial port 5 - Serial in Device Dynon 250 - Serial in function Pos 1- RX counter is incrementing.
Serial Port 1 Setup - Serial in Device - AvMap 4 - Serial in Function - None - RX Counter - 0
It would appear that AvMap is not connected to Skyview. Will further troubleshoot.  

O.K. Serial Port 1 - Setup Screen EKP4 - RX Counter is incrementing. When i disconnect orange wire from Dynon 250 GPS the map page shows speed, alt, dtw, btw with dashes. North pointer is normal. Symbolic aircraft has a ? mark on it. What should the serial in function be set to on the EKP4 page. GPS or Pos # and what #. When i click on the GPS Fix Status page, GPS 2 is active. Satellites in use shows --.

Could be a number of things.

We don't provide support on other company's products other than some VERY limited configuration device to get a GPS into configuration to transmit GPS formats that are compatible with Dynon systems.
