Back up battery life

Just tested the batteries and one failed at 35 minutes. Have been flying once or twice a week so both batteries are always fully charged. They are 5 years old, what is the expected life?

They're batteries, and thus don't last forever, especially given that they're often exposed to extremes of heat (Texas summers) and cold (Canadian winters). In our experience to date, 3-5 years is pretty average.

I take exception to that. Our summers up here are fairly cool also.
