My Skyview backup battery indicates 0.0 volts. When I put a meter directly onto the backup battery it shows 11 volts (slightly discharged).

How to I get Skyview to read the backup battery voltage? The sensor configuration is correct (P2) .

So first of all, the backup battery should only be connected to its dedicated connector on the DB37 screen harness. Since you mentioned P2 on the EMS connector, it sounds like you are trying to hook it up to the EMS DB27 perhaps?

In any case, when the battery is hooked to its connector, its voltage can be seen in under SETUP MENU>LOCAL SCREEN SETUP>SCREEN HARDWARE INFORMATION

Might be a legit issue..I just purchased and installed the back-up battery and hooked it to the Skyview. On the main engine page there is a voltmeter and even though the unit turned on with only the backup battery, the voltmeter was only reading 2 volts.

I hooked up the battery back up to the connector the harness came with. It goes to the DB 37 Skyview directly and not to EMS. I believe its PIN #2 (P2).

The "screen hardware information" indeed shows the backup battery voltage. However, when displaying a "widget" on the ems page the "back up battery" shows 0.0 volts. Also, in the sensor debug the voltage reads something like .04? volts?

ems voltage readings

the widget on the screen does not know if there is a valid voltage, what did you connect the voltage sensor wires from the ems to? red is on pin one and yellow on pin 2... they can be hooked up to anything and can be named anything but the screen widget will only map to actual sensors and the skyview backup battery is not an available raw voltage source... also i do not believe that aux battery ground is common with the airframe.

The EMS widget is looking at pin 2 on the EMS DB37 connector, not the SkyView display's DB37 connector. So without doing some active wiring between the SkyView DB37 and the EMS DB37, you won't see a voltage on the EMS page. The only way to see the internal battery voltage at the moment is through the screen hardware information, though a more persistent indicator is on the list of things to implement in a future firmware version.

Okay, that helps.
