Can anyone tell me if a King KX-165 nav/com will drive the HSI and glidescope on the Skyview? I'm thinking of purchasing a Nav/Com and don't really know anything about the king unit.

It doesn't, unfortunately. SkyView supports NAV signals from the SL30 over serial and the GNS/GTN series over ARINC-429 (SV-ARINC-429 module required).

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll look else where for a nav. I was also looking at the new nav coming from Val Avionics. They say it communicates with most displays, I'm guessing Dynon wouldn't know much yet since it's not out yet.

hi ... but ... The KLN-90B can be connected with an HSI, CDI, autopilot, and Maps Moving.
Would use the HSI function of KLN-90B, via ARINC 429, at Skyview??

Note that the original poster's question was about a different product.

We've had positive reports about the KLN-90B: As you've found, the KLN 90B requires ARINC (via the HS34), per http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/GPS_Serial_Compatibility_and_Configuration_Setting... and also this thread that pertains to SkyView : http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1368848343/0#0

what is the difference between radio systems NAV / VOR / GS Garmin (SL30) and Bendix King (kx165) that affects the functioning of the glideslope when they procure coupled to Dynon Skyview?? is possible to make an adapter?

The SL-30 talks RS-232 serial. This is two digital wires.

The KX-165 is all analog and uses about 15 wires.

SkyView only talks RS-232 so you cannot connect a 155/165 in any way.

Yes, someone could make an adapter, it is technically feasible. Dynon however has no plans to do so. It would not be cheap nor simple.

Please forgive my obtuseness here - does this mean that the KLN-90B will provide vertical guidance via the HS34?

The KLN-90B is not a precision approach certified GPS and doesn't give vertical guidance at all, so there's nothing for us to display.
