Best ways to cut down aircraft weight?

Trying to shave some weight off my aircraft. Any suggestions on where the best places are to begin? To kick things off, I thought about replacing my Pb battery with one of these new LiPo jobs... Saving about 5 lbs.

Don't know if it's applicable...but most of us could lose 5 lbs or so. Might be easier and cheaper than some of the alternatives.

Same comment for our race car, we would kill for extra HP, and or weight savings........ where was the easiest excess weight......the driver. Driver found it harder to get rid of though, could not easily unbolt it. :'(

Make it into a Glider (Sailplane for those over the Pond), remove the engine!!! A bit unkind to chuck the Pilot out!
