I had an engine out on takeoff. When I upload to SavvyAnalysis the user log shows the flight, but the black box data doesn't. The flight in the user log is 25 minutes but the black box only has three minutes. I assume the black box records only flight time. But the three minutes should show up in SavvyAnalysis. Any suggestions?

The black box log is just a full rate version of the user log, so I don't know why it wouldn't work with Savvy. You might need to ask them. Maybe they filter flights that look too short?

Wow! Sorry to hear that! I hope things turned out reasonably alright given the circumstances.

I guess it's worth while sharing for the lessons learned.

I did some updates recently so I was tweaking things and changed some settings in VP-X a few days earlier. Tower asked if I could depart no delay as they had a commercial on final. I was happy to oblige as I was breaking in new jugs and needed to keep them cool. I had done a runup while taxing and didn't want to sitting around. Takeoff was normal except I forgot to go rich mixture. At about thirty - forty feet I noticed the mixture and turned it up. The (incorrectly set) breaker for the electronic injectors went OVERC and the engine died. I turned the mixture back but it didn't help so I just flew the plane. I wasn't much over 75 kts and I normally approach at 85 - 90 kts so I didn't have a lot of airspeed. I just pointed it down. When I flared it stalled a few feet off the ground. At the peak of the bounce Tower called. I didn't catch what they said as I was busy. If I ever need a bit of throttle that was the time. I bounced twice more before it stuck to the ground. I called tower and careened around the corner onto Bravo taxiway but didn't make the threshold. Tower asked if I had and I asked them if they wanted me to push it over. They didn't answer that question and just told the commercial to go around. I watched him land on the other runway about tens minutes later while I was waiting for a tow.

While I was sitting there I found the OVERC error on the VP-X injector breaker. Checking the logs later, the fuel flow was at 18.9 gph and when I cranked it up it went to 19.2 gph before the breaker blew. I had been flying the day before but the maximum flow then was about 16 gph. I was taking it easy on my new jugs. The VP-X breaker was set at 1A. It should have been 10A. I think it was set that way for the previous two flights.

Lessons learned. Don't mess with the settings unless you have time to think about it and check them. Don't let anyone rush you. Had the mixture been set rich before takeoff the engine may have died on the ground rather than in the air or I might had remembered to easy it up with the new jugs like I did the day before. On the other hand it was a good place to find the problem :)
