Both my sky view screens 10 and 7 will not boot up. They come up with colored vertical lines and go from black screen to lines. I have checked everything. I have removed them and tested them with another dynon 37 pin lead to another odyssey. Battery and the same issue. Now am really concerned. They won't respond to the reboot process nothing works. All my electrical system is fine everything else is in good working order. I even disconnected the stand by batteries no change. This is a big concern for me. I have a photo but don't know how to attach

We'll probably need to see your units, but give us a call at 425-402-0433 first. One thing you could try, if you haven't already, is to disconnect the SkyView backup batteries if installed, and then see if the displays boot.

Had just received my 7" display, working on EMS files on shore power. After 10 hours powered down, then back up- now get the colored lines. Tried with/without lithium battery, and with full charged battery- no change.  Was advised by Dynon to return unit 10 working day turn around :( bummer- panel project on hold Tom- North Idaho

My screens are in transit from Australia, Looks like an issue has raised its head will be interesting to see how many others get the issue. I also work in the software business and understand what can happen at the bios end, thanks Dynon for the follow up lets hope an update sorts it out.

Cheers

My 10" did the same thing yesterday I disconnected the back up battery and it turned it self off. I let it sit for five minutes then fired it up again. All good. Could Dynon tell us if this is serious as I'm ready to test fly my plane in a couple of days. I would be a slight bit upset if I need to send it back to USA after building for so long then can't fly. Oh by the way it only did this after half an hour of power up time after installing version 3.0. Thanks

FYI mine did the same for a few times before it crashed altogether. I am sure Dynon will sort it out but it is a bit painful having to return them.

Hugh and Grundy,

What serial numbers are your units?

Reason for asking is that I had three units that all had to go back to our UK importer and the new one was a much later serial number.

There's no serial number correlation here, but we have had a few customers experience this type of failure. We've nailed the root cause and 3.1 will ensure that this doesn't happen to anyone else.

It will be easier to keep my screens and load the new software before sending them back. If it another week it will be OK.

Re: Both my screens have colored vertical lines. H

The failure we fixed in 3.1 can only occur if you have a backup battery connected. If you do, disconnecting it will prevent it from happening with 3.0, and then you can reconnect with 3.1.

If it has already occurred with a screen, there is a part inside that is damaged and it will need to come back to fix it, just loading 3.1 will not fix it (not that you could since you can't boot the system to load 3.1).

Whatever is decided to do I look forward to getting them fixed and returned so I can continue to finalize the installation.
