When you calibrate the mag compass will that change the mag compass setting in the GPS window?
Both the windows have the same compass setting. I thought the GPS compass was set by the satellite. They are both 15 degrees off. Help will be appreciated.

I believe the direction you are seeing on the map is GPS adjusted for magnetic declination. The direction you are seeing on the PDF DG is magnetic compass.

You can tell the difference in that if the outline around the number is white, it's a magnetic direction. If it's magenta it's GPS direction.

They are not always the same because the magnetic direction is affected by acceleration and turning.

GPS is only good when you are moving. On the ground, the heading on the moving map page is your magnetic heading. Once you get going fast enough it will switch. You can tell which one is being used by looking at the box around the heading- if it's white it's magnetic, if it's magenta it is GPS.
