Hi,

I've recently installed Skyview in my Atec Faeta, with a Garmin Area GPS, Funkwerk Com (ATR500) and Funkwerk mode S transponder (TRT800H). I do recieve GPS data to the Skyview, but is there any way that I could couple the XNDR to the Skyview and get access to the Traffic ? In the future I'm also hoping to have the FLARM coupled since the aircraft is used both for cross country and glider towing.

Anyway - the reason for asking, is that the manufacturer did the installation, but without giving me a diagram to see what they did.

Hope you can help.

Best regards

By the way I'm based in Denmark, Scandinavia.
Mike

As explained there, as of v2.6, SkyView supports display of traffic for transponders "that output the industry standard GTX 330 TIS traffic format".

I scanned through an online manual for the TRT800H and didn't find any mention of GTX 330 compatibility, so with v2.6 and the immediate future, your transponder isn't compatible with SkyView to display traffic.

The traffic that is available from the Dynon transponder is via TIS. TIS is only available via some US terminal radar installations (at some class B and C airports, more or less). It is also being phased out. In Europe, the Zaon XRX is a passive traffic system that can work and can connect with SkyView to provide traffic. Finally, Garrecht makes a module that can connect to Flarm and PowerFlarm transceivers, which are popular in Europe, and send that information to SkyView: http://smartsensor.de/index.php/en/ads-b/trx-1090. I believe they are planning on one (I thought it was a yellow colored box) that integrates the PowerFlarm receiver right into that box, but I don't see it on their website.

It basically provides a TIS stream, so it looks just like any other traffic source when connected to SkyView.
