Can't access setup menu, "USB drive must be present"

Hi,

I'm trying to get into the setup menu to change the measurement units.
I'm following the standard procedure: press buttons 7+8 for 2-3 seconds.
However, the menu does not show up. Instead, I get a message: "USB drive must be present for this menu" or something along these lines.

I have tried the procedure again with a 32gb FAT32 drive plugged into the USB port, but alas, same result.

I have only tried this on the ground, not in-flight.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I suspect this is a light sport that the manufacturer has restricted entry into the setup menus and the unit won't go into setup without
a file from them being on the thumb drive. They do this because they don't allow changes to the configuration. If you contact
the manufacturer, they should have some way to help you change the units.

By the way, for anyone having the same issue, I have tried the procedure in-flight and I get the same result.
