The install manual states "If your carburetor is not drilled and tapped for the plug, you must remove the carburetor from the engine and drill out the lead plug in the appropriate spot."

Well, mine isn't tapped. :(

Anyone else run into this?
Did you drill your carb?
Were the results worth the effort meaning, was it difficult, do you use the readings?

I really like the idea of being able to monitor carb temp BUT the thought of drilling a new, expensive carb is really kinda scary! :-/

So no one else has been so unlucky as I? I'm the only one that has a carb that isn't drilled? :(

My carb was drilled but somewhere along the line the threads got a little messed up. I had to install a helicoil in the carb. It really is no big deal, but I would recommend removing the carb first to avoid metal slivers ending up in the engine.

It is interesting to know what the carb temp is. I was surprised to see how often it is at or near 32 degress. This is on a Lyc O-235. However, I have never experienced carb ice symptoms.
