Could anyone tell me what the following message, on my Skyview, displayed on line 1 of the mesage page, with a yellow Caution notice?

Would really appreciate any help with this.

Line 2 has a Transponder Fail Message, but the aircraft factory fitted transponder the xxx-262 seemed to be working fine, so I'm not sure if this is referring to something completely differently.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards

Don:
"NEED USER MAG CAL" means that you have not yet calibrated your (Magnetic) compass (which is built into the SV-ADAHRS-200. We will make that caution message a bit more clear in v4.0.

As for the transponder error message:
* Is power turned on (breaker in) for the transponder in question?
* What transponders do you have in your aircraft?
* What exactly, does the "transponder error message" say?

Thanks for the info regarding the error.

The Skyview had to be changed as there was a problem with it freezing up. It may be that in the replacement unit this calibration wasn't carried out. I'll check the Dynon Installation documentation from the aircraft manufacturer, for the original details and see if there is a recalibration procedure.

I thought the best way to show what I meant was to attached the photo I took at the time, which seems to show the transponder working fine, or so it seemed.

The transponder is a Dynon 262 model, for the UK and has worked without any problems

Regards

Don

You may have more than one serial port set up to communicate to the transponder. So one of them is actually making the connection, while the other is causing the error.
