Are there any plans, as AFS already does, to allow certified (NON-Garmin) ADS-B boxes to be seen on the skyview?
I may be able to get a Navworx or freeflight ADS-B but wont invest in the offer without the knowledge it will work with the Skyview.
Thank you!

The Trig Transponder has an STC for use with the FreeFlight GPS.  I believe Trig contracted for this.

Perhaps the STC could be used as a basis for a field approval of a Dynon version of the Trig Transponder plus FF GPS combination.  You would have to use the STC's air/ground pressure switch (Pitot/Static based) if you did not want to get the FAA to accept Dynon's air/ground determination.

The above said, Dynon is working with the FAA to define a 2020 mandate compliant Skyview installation.  You are probably better off letting Dynon complete that work and then follow that path.

SkyView does not currently support third party ADS-B receivers. There aren't current plans to either, but it's not an impossibility. Keep in mind that with the FAA's recent rule change, things are changing, especially for homebuilders. We don't have anything to announce right now, but we'll have more to say about ADS-B before too long.

The last time we went through the whole mandate compliant ADSB-Out configuration for Skyview, it appeared as though the FAA were becoming more sensitive/aware of the needs of the Experimental community. They have begun to work with equipment providers like Dynon to generate 2020 mandate compliant installations. You can bet Dynon is on the bleeding edge of that which is why they are saying we should hear something (from them) soon.

I'm waiting as you can bet anything Dynon does will be well thought out and well executed.

I'm also waiting for a Dynon SkyView solution.
Their products and support are outstanding.
What's more, Dynon stays competitively priced.

I realize Dynon has leaped ahead significantly in the last year with 2020 compliance, I haven't however. I have a panel I don't want to change, as it would require re-doing the complete panel.I still have a desire to use a Navworx ADS-B to meet the requirement as that remains my easiest option, but need Dynon's time and support to allow this.
There is no other way, for me to display anything without your allowing for that 3rd party connection/communication.
If there is a protocol in place already, please let me know.
Thank you!

Is your configuration a SkyView panel but with a non-Dynon transponder? Because if you have the SV-XPNDR-261, you'd add the SV-GPS-2020 and the SV-ADSB-470 to gain both in and out compliance to your system.

The features here haven't changed since the last discussion: SkyView does not support third-party ADS-B receivers for traffic and weather reception.
