Dynon’s lack of an in-house trim system has been an issue. For instance; my plane has a KFC200 autopilot. The electric trim is part of that system. You cannot legally take just the autopilot out and leave the trim in.

For Barons and Bonanzas that have these autopilots (a lot of them…) there hasn’t been much of an option for this.

A couple of shops have been able to get Genesys (formerly S-Tec) to sell their standalone STCd trim system (about $5,000) and these have now been installed in a few airframes to satisfy the legal requirements.

If your shop is struggling with this situation, have them call Genesys Aerosystems and see if they can sell you an electric trim kit with STC.
