Hi can you turn of the GPS speed display and the altitude display on the D1. Also can you switch to just display a compass rose to use it as a DI

The D1 was designed to be a very easy to use device with minimal configuration options. To that end, the instruments that are displayed are permanents, and, also, you can't display just the DG.

Thanks for the reply its a shame it won't do more I am wanting to put it in certified aircraft as a replacement for the gyro di.

The D1 is definitely not suitable as a replacement for any certified piece of equipment. It's a portable device, not TSO'd, and can't be permanently installed in an aircraft or be used for credit against any airplane minimum installed equipment requirements.

However, it's VERY useful as an additional piece of information that is an additional backup to all of your certified panel. And since it's much easier to fly and understand than a conventional "partial panel" situation, it can help reduce workload when you need it most.
