Changing the fuel level widget to "height of bar"

My 50% engine screen has fuel level widgets that show the amount of fuel by the height of the bar (see picture). I am unable to select this style for my 20% screen, which currently has the fuel level shown by the position of a small white horizontal bar. How do I change the horizontal bar type to vertical bar height type?

Look on pages 7-85 and 7-86 of the current (Rev. AB) installation manual, for instructions on how to change the widgets. You should be able to select the vertical fuel level widgets.

None of the styles on page 7-85 match the picture I attached to my original post, instead, all the vertical widgets use a small white bar to indicate the parameter value on the scale. I've used the editor to cycle through all the widgets and all the sizes, and I can not find the widget that matches the ones I use on the 50% page. Note that the 50% page was laid out about 2 years ago - has the widget I want (the one in the picture) been deleted from the available styles?

The only widget that works like that is the fuel_bar widget. It's vertical only. Just select the vertical bar style and see if it acts like the fuel bar.

The picture attached shows what the fuel widgets look like on my 20% page: green stay at the top of the scale, and fuel amount is shown by a thin, horizontal white bar. They used to work the way I want (like back in July 2017), but now I can't find that style in the editor, and I suspect it happened when I changed to a smaller size vertical bar a month ago.

I agree, I would love for them to fix it so it works like in your first picture, and honestly I think this might be a bug and not intentional. The white line is still needed with the smaller size but in addition the colored background should not go above it.

If it is NOT available with the screen layout editor, it can be manually modified.
[olist][*]Export your settings "SYSTEM SETUP>EXPORT SETTINGS" and look for the file with a .dfg extension on the USB drive.
[*]Open the file with your favorite text editor and search for the line "Layout_20={".
[*]In that section look for the fuel level pins. If you used the Dynon standard configuration file they should be "c37_p21={" and "c37_p22={".
[*]Change the line "type=WIDGET_VBAR" to read "type=WIDGET_FUEL_BAR" for each fuel level pin.
[*]Load the file back into SV with the "SYSTEM SETUP>LOAD FILE" function.

To confirm what you have found, the "height-of-colored-bar" format was removed in a previous version of firmware. We will replace it in a future version.

Murray's explanation of how to edit it manually will work.

It seems like a popular format (I know others that use it). Why was it removed? Is there a safety issue of some sort?

And your instructions worked perfectly! I now have my "color level" fuel gauges again. Thanks!

Dynon - Any of the widgets can be selected for the fuel level, but only the WIDGET_FUEL_BAR shows the black above the fuel level. Is it possible to get a WIDGET_FUEL_ARC or WIDGET_FUEL_HBAR to get a little variety in the fuel gauge?
