Hi guys
This is my first post. I am installing a EFIS D100 and aD10 on a HKS engine. I just found out that HKS uses CHT type K while the EMS says type J for CHT, will I need to reconfigurate something to have an exact reading? Or will I have to go through the GP wires?

There's only one GP Thermocouple input on the 37 pin connector that can be used for a generalized temperature. On the D25 connector (the EGT/CHT connector), 6 of the inputs are always CHT and always type J thermocouples. The other 6 inputs are always EGTs and type K inputs, so there aren't any obviously great options. Is there a reason you can't use the bayonet type J thermocouples that we sell in the Lycoming packages? Is there some engine computer that requires the type K CHTs?

It's not an ideal solution, but could you potentially use ring terminal type J CHTs to feed the Dynon, keeping your type K's intact? We sell them in a single size for Jabiru engines, but other sizes are available from Spruce and other aviation suppliers.

Isn't there a way to get that EMS to read K type thermocouples for CHT's?
Rings around the plugs is a bummer, especially that the probes are already in there.

In SkyView, you can edit the sensor configuration file manually to allow this. But on the first generation EMS products, this is hard coded.
