TLDR; When using Cies Fuel Senders, use the GREEN sensor wire!

I installed new Cies fuel senders in my 182 to work with a new installation of Skyview HDX. Reading the installation manuals (obviously, not close enough), I followed the prominent wiring diagram that came with the Cies senders and connected the blue wire. When it came time to calibrate the fuel senders, I wasn’t getting any change in the readings in the HDX calibration screen after two 5-gallon pours. ”Uh-oh,” I thought, “I wonder if I connected the Left and Right sensor wires backwards.” I removed the fuel cap plate from the top of the wing, reached in and moved the float up and down observing the debug sensor data screen. No change on either Left or Right. Hmmm…. Back to the install manuals. What I found was a single diagram for wiring “some JPI or EI engine monitors with analog converters.” The key word here is ANALOG! I connected the green wire to the EMS and moved the float. Success!
