I understood that you are currently developing a COM Radio for Skyview, which is a wonderful add on.

Are you planning just a COM Radio or a COM+NAV Radio too? I think this is a really interesting thing to know, because currently one of the most expensive part of avionics is COM+RADIO (I think that is absolutely non sense paying an enormous amount of money for a '90 style Garmin 430 or a SL30 and the GTN are surely out of budget).

Moreover do you have some additional info regarding the radio?

Do you think it will come out in 2012 like 1st semester or 2nd semester (I mean the COM one)?

Did you sort out if will be integrated in the Skyview or with an additional panel (I mean an evident panel on the cockpit, I suppose you will need another piece of avionic in the back)?

Thanks,
Cechi

In all of the "passing mentions" of a future Dynon Panel Radio, we've always stated that it will be a COM radio.

The Dynon COM Panel Radio will have its own (small) panel, with the "radio electronics" mounted remotely in the fuselage, very similar to Dynon's SV-XPNDR-261/262.

The Dynon COM Panel Radio will integrate / interoperate with SkyView in various ways.

The interface between the Dynon COM Panel Radio will be serial port, so save at least one SkyView Display Serial TX and RX port. The connection between the Dynon COM Panel Radio will not be serial, so it will not use up a SkyView Display Serial Port.

Other than the basic information above, we do not currently have any additional information to disclose at this time about the Dynon COM Panel Radio:

No dimensions

No release schedule

No technical information

No features list

No installation / pre-wiring instructions
Sorry... we really don't have any more to say about it at this moment.

Is there any chance that it will include the functions of an audio panel or will we still need a separate audio panel?

Thanks

Looked at the  PAR 100EX http://www.ps-engineering.com/PAR100EX.shtml  ? it can monitor (for ATIS info, not course deviation) NAV frequencies too a neat way to minmise panel crowding & you can add the Dynon radio later when available, then you'll have the advantages of 2 comms for a reasonable price ;)
