Hi,
we can set bugs for heading, speed Altitude etc........why not use that data to generate command bars or similar as a pseudo flight director. Hitting a front panel button to enable and disable the command bars.

It would help to maintain a flight path (when cleared through Controlled airspace for example) and could be discontinued if the deviation from the bugs exceeded a preset level.

Am using the EZ pilot and the combination of the EFIS and EZ pilot is fantastic. Will add the EZ pilot Altitude hold system soon with the altitude and vertical speed preselect option.

I posted this initial suggestion in June 2005................GRT with their new flight director software now offers command bars, with or without the autopilot....

with the Dynon units, they can be initialised by the bugs being set or synched and any deviation will be sensed and displace the command bars.........

the logic must be in place now that the autopilot software is enabled......it just requires the visual presentation to be activated (for AP and non AP systems)
