Hi to all.
This post is for all of us who own a Dynon EFIS, to understand whow reliable and serious product we have installed at our panels. Recently I became witness of a crazy situation involving an EFIS from a DYNON's competitor. The owner of the plane is a non English speaker. He was trying to create a flight plan and as the sub menus of this system are complicated and not straight forward like DYNON EFIS are, he gave an input and suddenly with NO warning, the whole system collapsed! No maps, engine gauges, blank screens, all personal data, settings and logs gone! What was the input he accidentaly used?FORMAT SSD! In this system you can format the EFIS like a PC, losing everything and with no warning-like DO YOU WANT TO ERASE ALL DATA FROM SYSTEM?-nothin at all. It seem crazy, at least to me, but it happened. When the owner showed me the steps he followed and I realized what had happened, I couldn't believe it! That is why I say only DYNON makes EFIS and the rest are making "flying PC's"!
