The Skyview Engine page is can be highly customized. The PDF not so much. I can understand that deviating from a standard format might be disorienting to pilots. However, the tape style gauges on a glass panel are distinctly different than the standard six pack. You can find lots of discussion on those differences.
While the PDF only offers a couple of choices, the Engine page lets us deviate from the required gauges. In Canada it's required to have a minimum of six gauges: altitude, airspeed, tachometer, oil pressure, oil temperature and a compass. If the airplane has a constant speed propeller I believe a MAP gauge also is required. The Skyview Engine page doesn't dictate any of the required gauges be present.
On the other hand we are stuck with two versions of the PDF; air speed and altitude tapes or the conventional six pack. Since the Skyview is considered experimental, it would be nice if we had a third customization choice for the PDF. A mixture of tape, arc and information gauges of different sizes and styles could personalize the PDF to suite the pilot. Airspeed, Altitude and Compass of some sort could be mandatory, but the rest could be choices to suite the individual.
