I have a D-10 in a Lancair IV-P that I love. I am getting ready to send it in to be upgraded to a D-10A. I was wondering two things:
1 - Can the D-10A now be calibrated without a laptop
2 - I unerstabd that the D-10A will run cooler, is this going to be a big difference or a little one?
Thanks
:)

The EFIS-D10A can indeed do the magnetic calibration routine from the internal EFIS menu system. The laptop connection for that procedure is no longer required. Note that you'll still need the laptop for future software updates and uploading checklists.

The EFIS-D10A has roughly the same power consumption/characteristics as the EFIS-D10 and therefore will run at close to the same temperature.
