I have a D-100/AP74 driven by a Garmin GPS496 in my Avid Magnum . I am using Software Version 5.5.0 and am in the flight test/adjust phase of the installation.

I have been adjusting sensitivity in the HDG and TRK modes with some success (slow process).

I am , however unable to engage the NAV mode on the Autopilot. The NAV button on my AP74 is unresponsive and will not light up or couple .

The HSI in the D-100 display shows all of the Magenta Data indicating that it is communicating with the GPS496 and I was using "Direct to" a waypoint on the GPS when I was trying to couple the autopilot . What am I doing wrong ?

On the HSI, are you getting the full HSI with a broken out (or centered) CDI? Can you snap a picture of your D100's HSI page when you're not able to activate NAV mode?

As requested - GPS496 is set Direct to KEQY ; Magenta shows on D-100 and NAV button on AP74 will not enable . The ALT , TRK , and HDG buttons function correctly . Pictures attached . What next ? :)
Thanks,
Wally

Excellent Support Service ! Reply # 3 of the first thread gave exact instructions on how to locate the proper menus to reconfigure my 496 . After resetting my 496 , the NAV mode on the D-100 now works properly .

Thanks ,

Wally
