I have a D-10A wired to SL-30 via RS232. The CDI property deflects when on final and slightly off course. However, I cannot get the CDI pointer set to the LOC course.
The D-10A user manual p.6-5 says: When in ILS mode, the SL-30 disables the OBS knob, and thus you must use the soft keys below the HSI in order to set the course.
Should I have a menu item in the NAVSRC menu of the D-10A that provides for setting the course? My NAVSRC menu only provides a heading bug function. I cannot find soft key indicators for setting course. I am using firmware 5.1.1 Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve my problem?
I have tried to select VOR on the SL-30 using the <--> button and then set the LOC/ILS course. While in VOR, The CDI pointer on the HSI moves to the selected course as advertised. Then I press <--> to select localizer and the CDI pointer moves off the course that was selected in VOR by 30 degress. Should this technique work? If so, any suggestions on how to use the technique successfully?
