D-180 Setup Requirements

I just purchased a D-180 which was upgraded to SuperBright by the Dynon factory to replace my (rather dim) D-180 in my Vans RV 7. I'm assuming that the replacement should be "plug and play" since my installed and working properly older unit is calibrated and connected to a D-120 through the DSAB bus. ;I will use all of the existing harnesses and simply plug everything in the new unit exactly like it is plugged into the old unit.

What re configuration will be required when I install the rebuilt Super Bright D-180? Thanks....

So to be clear - if you mean that you got your already-configured D180 back from us, yes, it will maintain its configuration.

If you mean that you have a different upgraded D180 to replace yours, you'll need to reconfigure things like your engine sensors, redlines, etc. IE, the D180 won't "adopt" configuration settings from another device in the panel.

Dynon, Thanks for the response. I'm able to configure my Super Bright D-180 EFIS (for the most part) here at home. What will I see on the EFIS/EMS in split screen mode on the 1/3 EMS view? Also, I assume (hoping) my installed and configured D-120 will not be affected by the installation of the new D-180. Is that correct? Do these boxes not "talk" to one another?

The D180 and D120 will always source their own EMS info. Combining a D180 with a 2nd EMS wasn't really a conceived of connected scenario (why would one need two EMSes in a piston single, better to back up the EFIS by going with a D180 + D10A or D100 EFIS). Regardless, once you connect them, you'd be able to bring the EFIS screen over to the D120. Does that answer your question?
