I am having trouble getting my D10 to track by gps also no wind information coming up on the D10.
Anyone know where and how i can fix this. It appears that the EFIS and the GPS are not talking to one another at all.

Thanks

Do you have an EFIS-D10, EFIS-D10A, or an EMS-D10?

Sorry i should have listed the lot for you
EFIS is a D10A with two servos through the AP74
The AV-MAP is a EKP4

I am off to the field today to do a double check on all the settings.
I have the latest software upgrade for the D10a but this issue occurred around the last AVMAP upgrade i cant recall whether it was before or after the upgrade

Thanks again

Bruce:

The GPS' RS-232 TX wire must (eventually) be connected to the EFIS-D10A Pin 22; make sure you have continuity between those two end points.

The GPS and EFIS-D10A must have a common ground (for the data flow to work). For example, if you're operating the GPS on battery power, there's no ground connection so the data connection won't work. If there's a ground pin available on the GPS, its equivalent on the EFIS-D10A is Pin 9.

The best way to connect a GPS to an EFIS-D10A is to connect the GPS through the 9-pin connector that's on every Dynon Avionics harness:
- Connect the GPS TX to the 9-pin connector, Pin 3
- Connect the GPS Ground to the 9-pin connector, Pin 5

Then, ensure that the settings are correct:
SETUP > HSI > LOCAL DATA PORT / EFIS/EMS SERIAL > EFIS SERIAL
INPUT - Set to GPS (or AUTO, which usually works, but not always)
BAUD RATE - Set to 4800 or 9600 whichever speed your GPS is transmitting at (or AUTO, which usually works, but not always)

You will need to re enter the settings you need for the Avmap as it defaults to factory settings when you do 'upgrades'. ;)

(Therefore the nmea etc will have been turned off.)

Thanks for that
I didn't get your post until tonight but that is exactly what I found when checking all the settings from the support post.
Its a point I will file away and use after my next "upgrade"
Also my thanks to the Dynon Support for the clear prompt instructions.

I hope to get airborne within the next week to test this is now working satisfactorily

Regards
