Looking to better utilize my serial output from my Garmin 696 to provide both GPS info to my DSAB network and to also pass through the radio frequencies to my Garmin SL-40. My setup includes a D100 (master), D180 with an AP74/HS34/SV32's configured in the network. Would I be able to pin out the HS34 serial 1 or 2 Tx to my SL40 Rx in to pass the serial info through to the SL40?

Or is it as simple as splicing my 696 GPS NEMA output and run one wire to the Dynon D100 and the second to my SL40?

The HS34 will should indeed pass through the frequency information sentences from the GPS when it is in the middle of the GPS and the SL30/40. Of you can connect it directly too. The passthrough was more necessary with the SL30, where we also needed to talk to that device for HSI. In the SL40's case, there isn't really a reason to have it connected to the HS34/Dynon at all. So in this case, you can opt to splice the output from the GPS to both the HS34 and the SL40, your choice.
