Maybe it’s just running off the internal battery, if one is fitted. What volts are being displayed when engine running ?

Hello jake thank's alot for your quick response.
i didn't expect and reply that fast.
As more as i'm thinking about the symtom's as more logic seems your answer.
I've studied the whole night the manuals and at least i know now how to get the damn thing out off the dashboard.
I need to leave today for a week and i'll doublecheck as soon as i'm back.
I definately let you know then.
Thank's alot for your help
Happy landings
Regards Andy

No need to remove the unit ,yet.
If you turn the master on & let the Dynon boot up, & then master off, does a 30 second countdown type message display on the Dynon ? If YES then you do have an internal battery.
The other question still needs to be answered - how many volts is displayed on voltmeter when engine is running ?
Enjoy the vacation ;)

Hello Jake,
i checkendem the Efis once more yesterday.
Here is what i figured out:
I switched on the masterswitch and Engine Instruments, the Voltmeter Shows 13,2 Volts
Then i switched EFIS on with the external Switch on the dash, it booted Up and Shut down after a Minute without any Message into a dark Screen.
with Engine Running ist is the Same, except the Voltmeter Shows 13,8 Volt.
As soon as i switch the external efis switch off and on again, it rebooted again and Shuttle down after appr. a Minute.
Then i took the dash cover away and disconnected the Bus connector on the backside of the D100.
So now there wasn’t any external Power anymore.
i pushed the left Button on the efis and the unit booted up and Keeps staying on?!
After arround 15 minutes i hit the left button once more and it shuts down which should be ok i think.
So That Shows me that there must be a back Up Battery inside which might be ok.
Then i reconnect the Bus connector on the backside and disconnected the plug on the AP74.
With this plug disconnected the whole system doesn’t work anymore!
I am not sure what to do or checked next, I took both units out of the dash and have it on my table here now.
Even here on the table without any external power source I can switch the efis on and it stays on the internal Battery Until I switch it off again.
i am totally confused now!
Maybe this issue is caused by the autopilot unit?
Do you think I might should send both units to dynon for a check?
i am a bit clueless now.
Thanks a lot!
Regards
Andy

Andy, there is one other simple thing to do before you contact Dynon support - bypass the panel power switch for the Dynon by just removing the wires & joining them together as there is absolutely no need to have a separate switch, it potentially just creates another failure point. Then do the test again, if the result is the same then contact Dynon support directly. HTH.

Hello Jake,
thank's alot man, that sounds logic to me even in the manual they say a seperate switch isn't neccessary.
I will check on that wednesday.
I'll let you know then.
You have a great day!
