D10A Heading indicator

I've just had the EFIS D10A installed but I am unable to get the heading tape across the top to show up. I keep getting the "no external compass" error message. This unit is supposed to have an internal compass, correct?

The D10A has an internal compass and the remote compass is optional.

To get the internal compass working, you need to calibrate it.
