D120 not seeing D100

Dynos support,

  I recently installed the D100 and D120 combo and have started configuring screens.  The D100 see the D120 no problem but the D120 does not see the D100.  I had to reinstall the D100 update (Rev. 1.08) to get remote compass input but did not update D120 (Rev. 1.07).  Do I need to run the update on the 120 also??

Bill,

You do need to have the latest versions of the D100 and D120 software installed, but you do seem to have this (1.08 and 1.07 are the latest)

For the D100 to show D120 info, you need to have the two DSAB wires connected. It appears you do.

For the D120 to show D100 info, you need to have the two serial ports connected with a null modem. I'm guessing you don't. Page 3-1 of the D120 install manual tells you how to do this.

Another option is to wait a few months. Our next software update will talk between the D100 and D120 both ways over DSAB, so you won't need the serial null modem connection anymore.

You are correct I didn't connect the serial ports together. I think I'll just wait, that way I don't have to disconnect each time there is a software upgrade.
