I have a D100/D120 installed in my RANS S-19. The engine is a GEN 2 JABIRU 3300. I was having stator charging issues so I installed a new voltage regulator and reworked the connectors. That seemed to fix charging issues however while testing the new voltage regulator I noticed that the RPM display stayed at 0 after start up. The current display is also jumping up and down a lot. The D120 RPM feed is off one side of the stator which is energized by a couple of “rare earth magnets” attached to the flywheel. I confirmed continuity to the pickup lead which is the white/green lead to pin 32.
Any thoughts? Is it possible that I broke the RPM circuit in the D120? Pin 32 is the left side RPM, should I try pin 33 which is the white/blue lead for the right side pickup? Thanks, John McGlynn
