D180 blowing 2 amp fuse

When running off the main buss, my D180 is blowing the 2amp fuse after being on for about 1 minute.  I have a charged internal battery that will keep everything running but I get the warning message that the unit is on backup power.  It only happens when the DB37 misc sensor connector is plugged in.  (When I only have the main power Dsub and the CHT/EGT Dsub connected the D180 will run off the main buss just fine.)

Any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem?  Thanks.

It only happens when the DB37 misc sensor connector is plugged in.

There is the clue - check to see that you don't have pin 1 & 2 connected to anything, if that doesn't 'fix' it then check any other 'power' (& ground) wiring.

Thanks Jake.  Already, however, I had removed entirely the wires for pin 1 and 2 of the DB37 connector since the manual indicated "do not connect"  those two.

By "check any other 'power' (& ground) wiring" do you mean on the DB37?  If so, which others would be "power" wires?  And what should I check for on the ground wires?

I have not yet hooked up my fuel flow power, oil pressure, ammeter, RPM, fuel level wires and a couple of the surplus black ground wires.  Would not having any of those connected cause any problems?

Thanks again for any help.

Dynonsupport just answered on a different forum that the D180 now requires a 3A fuse, especially if also using the internal battery as the 2A would not both power the unit and recharge at the same time. I'll put in a 3A and see if that solves the problem.
