Hello, I was wondering if the GPS position is also sent to tablet device? I am currently using a Bluetooth GPS and I wanted to simplify the set-up by using the D2 to provide the position info to the app. Is that possible?

So since the D2 uses Wi-Fi it can't send position to the iOS operating system for general use around the iPad. However, specific apps can support the reception of the D2's position. In other words, yes, the D2 sends GPS position out over the same Wi-Fi connection that it sends attitude over. However, whether the app is capable of using it is something will differ from app to app, and may change over time. I'm not immediately sure which ones are capable of using the D2's GPS position.

I use the wifi connection D2/Ipad. It works great if you switch on the D2 first. The AirNav Pro software can use the attitude and gps-position to display a 3 dimentional moving map. You see on the Ipad screen what you see outside, in front of the plane. You could, in extremis, fly trough a vally at low level, in a white-out due to IMC conditions. I verifyed this in VFR conditions in the alps, works great! You need to buy the 3D map first (+- 70 euros for France) ;)

I just bought a D2. I cannot get it to talk to Wing X Pro or FlyQ. I called Dynon tech support. They were also unable to get the D2 to communicate.

I was told by the tech that he would show it to someone and I would get a call back. when i didn't get a call back for 2 days I called back in and was told they did not have resources to address the problem.

I bought the D2 because the advertising said it communicate with Wing X and FlyQ.

Sorry for the delay - we were a bit short staffed last week in support due to some outages. I know we've reached out to WingX (but I don't have an immediate answer for you here), and we know there's a compatibility issue here that looks to have emerged in an app update (it definitely used to work). I didn't think we had an issue with FlyQ - I'll look into that here...

It has been over a month since the last comm from Dynon. the WingX to D2 connection used to work. Getting it fixed must be something simple.

When will someone actually work on fixing this?

Have you tried asking WingX about the support of the D2? It likely broke on their side and would need to be fixed by them.

We have reached out to WingX, and we do believe that something changed in the app (it used to work, and now doesn't). Please let them know that you'd like to see this feature fixed. We'll ping them again as well.

Has anyone actually been able to interface the D2 with an external app and get attitude indications on an ipad or android device?

I have had a pretty good look around and can't find anybody that has got this to work.

A lot of the apps that used to work have slowly gone away. FlyQ definitely works, as does Air Navigation Pro. We've tested both of those within the last couple of weeks.
