Does the use of a D6 as a backup screen paired with Skyview require me to run Pitot/Static tubing to it, or can I use a remote ADHRS or Magnetometer and run just wires to the D6?

In my RV-7A I have plastic tubing running only to the center aft area for the primary ADHRS for the Skyview and am wondering if I have to bring that tubing to the panel for the D6 backup. I hope not. D6 needs to be independent of Skyview.

Page 3-10 of the installation manual states either pitot static or GPS data with pitot static being the recommended solution.

I would also recommend connect it to your AOA source (e.g. Dynon pitot/AOA tube).

You really do need pitot/static for the D6. Else you won't have any airspeed or altitude. Airspeed is also the preferred source for attitude crosscheck - you'll in fact get a caution message ("gps assist") on the display if you're in flight and airspeed has gone away.
