I have subscriptions to both Foreflight and FLyQ and recently purchased the WiFi adapter so I can do seamless flight planning with the Skyview. I see two way flight plan communication available and also ADAHRS, location data being passed for moving map functionality. This is really great functionality. What I do not see are the other ADSB services such as Weather and Traffic that are also available.

Are there plans to add those two functional data streams to Wifi? It would be nice to have a fully functional Ipad in flight that redundantly shows Wx and Traffic in addition to the moving map capabilities.

Am I barking up the right tree or should I be requesting this from Foreflight and Seattle Avionics?

Currently, SkyView does not provide the ADS-B data (weather, traffic) over the Wi-Fi connection.

If this capability is added, then the app manufacturers will have to update their apps to receive and display that data in their app.

Then I would like to see a future data enhancement that you add WX and traffic data streams to your Wifi output. I'll post the same request to Foreflight and Seattle Avionics.

Re: EMS Data availability via WiFi

I'd like to be able to use the Skyview Assist app to display my EMS data on my tablet, freeing up D1000 real estate to enlarge the PFD and Map screens. EMS data isn't transmitted on WiFi so the serial data is all that's available and, since I'm out of serial ports, I'm out of luck. I'd like to see that data transmitted on the WiFi network so apps can more easily make use of it.

Tom,
Just because we're always curious, how did you use up all the serial ports on an RV-12?

I'm getting this from the User_Config.dfg file saved from my system. Unless I misunderstand the file:
Serial #1: ELT (Tx only)
Serial #2: ADSB
Serial #3: Xpndr 261
Serial #4: Garmin 200
Serial #5: Dynon 2020

Thanks! I forget that they run Garmin COM in the RV-12 instead of ours.
