Does Export of Datalog clear also?

Reason I ask is I exported to an unintended USB stick, replaced and exported again to intended stick and they contain different data; seems as if the second one is much smaller than first. It's also in 16Hz timing after I had set to 1Hz.... wondering now if I actually exported blackbox version second time.

Is Datalog output (included data columns and formatting) same regardless of system configuration?

I've create a datalog format for dashware.net and wondering if there will be differences across different user configurations.

It does not clear the datalog when you export.

When you export you should always get two files, the black box (15 minutes at 16Hz) and the user (your rate chose for as long as we can store).

The datalog output is independent of the system config in terms of number of columns. However, the headers for some of these columns changes depending on EMS configuration. Given that we have user nameable devices on the EMS, we can't include all permutations in one file, and thus the headers are what tell you what a column is for. Many of the EMS columns are fixed, like RPM, MAP, oil temp, etc.

The AHRS and System logs are not dynamic at all.

Can one download the data logs in-flight?
I am trying to do airspeed calibration using the serial data output and the GPS data but the only GPS ground speed is from the NMEA output so I can't get the rest of the data (ADAHRS, system, EMS) without using a second serial line.

Thanks!

If you can fly for a few minutes with your screen in the setup menu, you can export a datalog in flight.

I'm really curious- why do you need to do this analysis while flying? Can you actually adjust something in flight to change this?

I have two screens so shouldn't have trouble flying with one on setup mode for a few minutes.
The reason for doing this is just efficiency. I'm using the GPS method for airspeed calibration outlined by Doug Gray (http://contrails.free.fr/temp/TAS_FNL4.pdf)
If I have the system data I can, real time, see how closely I held airspeed and heading to know if my run data is any good (I would get this from the ADAHRS output). I could repeat that point right away instead of realizing my data quality is bad after landing.
If I have the actual GS and and ground track from the GPS I can also get the point up on a plot right away. This would mean that by the end of the runs I would already know if I had a calibration problem or if one of the points didn't family and a re-fly was in order.
Afer having a properly calibrates airspeed system I can then get good performance data

Thanks for the quick response Dynon!
