I was practicing approaches using a D-1000 and noticed when I reviewed the approach for my local airport the valid date on the chart was showing Jul 19, 2018-Aug 18, 2018. I have the latest charts loaded on the USB according to the chart manager. Does anyone know why I would have green dots on the chart manager for the USB and it displays the date like that on the display? The current chart date is Jun 18, 2020-Jul 16, 2020 according to Air Nav.

What's probably happening is that the approach chart has not needed updating since that issue, so it's not been re-issued with new dates. This is one of the aspects of SA's program that drives me nuts...the fact that it downloads ALL of the plates and diagrams, despite only a small percentage of them *actually* being updated in any given cycle.

Got an answer from Seattle Avionics and they assured me that if you have the current database installed then the charts are current regardless of the date on the side of the plate. And the date will only change if there is an update to that plate since there is no scheduled periodic update to approach plates.
