I seriously doubt the following problem is with SV, but wanted to ping both this forum and VAF for debugging tips...
Here's what I have:
A Bob Archer antenna in the wingtip (RV-7A) with coax to a diplexer under the dash
Diplexer splits single input coax to VOR/LOC and GS which feeds
A Garmin 430W, which is connected via the ARINC-429 box to
SV-1000
Problem: my GS has disappeared. It works fine with LPV or LNAV/VNAV GPS approaches, and the initial test screen from the 430W on start-up shows half-up/half-left deflection on the HSI, so I think it's sending the correct stuff via ARINC. Also, the LOC (and VORs) are showing correctly. Only GS is missing.
I'm looking for debugging tips before diving in and replacing things. I think the possible sources of the problem are:
bad diplexer
bad coax from diplexer to 430W
bad GS on 430W
or (won't know until I crawl under the cockpit) loose/open coax connections between diplexer and 430
Any other suggestions?
As always...TIA...
Steve
