Two HDX screens have dimed differently from each other.
This has happened 2 out of three night flights.
The two screens start out the same, then one will dim and the other stays the same.
On the ground a power cycle resets the screens

That is strange, while testing my classic dynon screens the dimming is clearly coupled and the dimming only happens when the light sensors on both displays both are covered. I don't know how this information is shared though, Do you both have the Dynon bus and the Ethernet cable between the two units?

Yes the bus and ethernet cables are attached to both screens.
The primary display goes dark, then use of the dim adjustment in the primary display (barely visible), is used to bring the brightness to a level that can be seen, and that causes the passenger screen to go bright in the same increments used to brighten the primary screen.
This happens when flying from day light to night, when the screens are auto diming.

If you haven't resolved this yet, I suggest contacting Dynon support. There was a HW issue with dimming in some HDX units. The symptoms were different (displays didn't dim unless I modified the settings severely, and then weren't stable or as dim as I wanted), but I did have some brightness difference before sending both displays back to Dynon. In my case I think that was because I had to mangle the setting--I'm running defaults now and I'm happy. If that's not it, obviously we're all puzzled on the forum.

Thanks for chiming in Albee, the more help the better.
here is the history on these near new HDX screens.
I had read the on this forum the issues with the dimming sensor getting light bleeding in and disrupting the dimming process.
I sent both screens back to Dynon, the returned Screens where given a software update, no other description on the repair tag was given.

Now the screens dim enough to the point they are not visible at night so my thought is Dynon has fixed the sensor problem on this set of screens.
The differential diming between the two screens showed up, and it's not making sense as to why one screen would dim more than the other, through the transition from day to night flight.
As the screens dim one jumps to a more dim position than the other, yet as brightness is adjusted by either screen, they each adjust incrementally equal yet one is brighter than the other.
A power cycle restores them to equal brightness, I think.

I have been in contact with Tech support, and am following the suggestion of resetting the screen diming to factory, and test the screens again.

I will keep you informed.
Any ideas are welcome.

Thank You
