I am using 2 ea. HDX-800 EFIS screens in my RV-6 - one for PFD and the other for Moving Map/Navigation. Using Seattle Avionics map data, I am able to select a plate for a given airport on the Nav screen but it is always displayed in split screen mode, along with the sectional map. Is there a way to switch the plate to full screen?

Plates are always shown split-screen, either replacing a 50% map, or half of a 100% map.

Since posting this question, I have been experimenting with the HDX and found it is possible to display a Seattle Avionics Plate full-screen (see picture) using the following procedure:

For the Main/Pilot EFIS:
1 - Press INFO, select/enter airport
2 - Touch PLT, touch the plate you want displayed
2 - Press VIEW
3 - Press DISPLAY
4 - On the Display menu, touch SWAP

Oddly, to display a Plate full-screen on the secondary/Co-Pilot EFIS, the entire procedure outlined above needs to be entered, from beginning to end, twice.

Interesting that you can do that, but since the plate doesn't get any bigger when you do, what's the purpose in eliminating the other useful information on the screen (PFD, Map)?

With the screen's zoom function, you can zoom in and enlarge the plate to fill/overfill the screen. As it's a moving map, you'll always know the plane's location from a bird's eye view of the field with the plate markings now larger & easier to read. This will aid navigating around airports with multiple runways, taxiways, etc. after the sectional is no longer needed. It's just a shame it takes so many button pushes to enable.
